Citi, a leading global bank with approximately 200 million customer accounts and operations in over 160 countries, is seeking a Python Applications Development Manager, VP. This role is part of the Enterprise Operations & Technology teams, responsible for technology solutions that underpin all banking operations, from security and resource management to digital architecture and customer experience. The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The primary objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
  • Experience as an Applications Development Manager
  • Experience as a senior level in an applications Development role
  • Stakeholder and people management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Expert proficiency in Python
  • Experience with Python Packages: Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Flask/Django, and other relevant data science, machine learning, and web development libraries.
  • Experience with Deep Learning Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Experience with LLMs: Llama, Gemini, GPT-4, and other advanced LLMs.
  • Experience with Vector Databases: Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, Faiss, PostgreSQL with vector extensions (pgvector).
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with MLOps Tools: MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar.
  • Experience with Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD Tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with Version Control: Git
  • Experience with Data Visualization & Reporting: Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn.
  • Experience with Databases: SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve established goals, including conducting personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
  • Collaborate closely with business users, stakeholders, BAs, product managers, and other development teams to understand problem spaces, brainstorm ideas, approaches, and solutions.
  • Understand the integration of APIs with third-party libraries/vendors and manage associated security.
  • Provide architectural guidance to SDEs based on best practices and in alignment with CTO guidelines and platform strategy.
  • Manage Citi’s technology infrastructure, including software, hardware, and procured products.
  • Partner with the Support team to ensure the stability of the production environment through proactive monitoring and health checks.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of new technology.
  • Demonstrate influence in scrum teams beyond your immediate area of focus.
  • Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, with consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
