PVC Manufacturing Technician
About The Position
Rubb Building Systems is a building manufacturer in Sanford, Maine, producing engineered fabric structures. The PVC Manufacturing Technician works as part of the production team to measure, cut, position, and heat-weld PVC-coated fabric used for building covers, using specialized equipment and techniques. This hands-on manufacturing role offers training in the equipment, techniques, and processes needed to perform the work safely; previous PVC fabrication or welding experience is not required. The position requires attention to detail, learning new skills, and working both independently and as part of a team. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background checks and a pre-employment physical. Rubb is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, move, and/or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Successful completion of criminal background checks and a pre-employment physical.
Responsibilities
- Correctly identify materials while maintaining records and traceability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, machining instructions, and written and verbal instructions to execute work orders.
- Use solvents safely to clean and bond plastic parts.
- Fit and assemble parts and attach hardware and fittings using clamps, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners.
- Perform typical machine shop operations to support production and fabrication of PVC sheets.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Work with minimal supervision after training by following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules.
- Contribute to maintaining a healthy, safe, neat, and tidy workplace.
