PV Solar Field Technician Intermediate Level - Roy Solar: Tishomingo OK
About The Position
The PV Solar Field Technician will work at the Roy Solar site in the Tishomingo, Oklahoma area, supporting operation and maintenance of solar PV collection assemblies, battery energy storage, and AC/DC inverters across multiple solar power plants. The role is responsible for safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations, maintaining tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations, and performing inspections and electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting of solar arrays and inverters. Daily inspections identify fluid system breaches, broken or misaligned mechanical components, and electrical failures that prevent inverters from producing grid power. The technician also supports nearby sites in the region and helps maintain reliability, operations, and maintenance for assigned sites. As a Site Technician, the employee supports the Regional Manager or designee in executing Power Generation Division processes. The position involves safety, contractor management, equipment operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, site operations, asset management, regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management. The role may include supervisory duties for company employees and contractors, heavy equipment operation, and other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Valid non-CDL driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Trade school graduate.
- Licensed electrician.
- Licensed master electrician.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
Responsibilities
- Support operation and maintenance of solar PV collection assemblies, battery energy storage, and AC/DC inverters across multiple solar power plants.
- Maintain tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition.
- Perform inspections and electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting of solar arrays and inverters.
- Inspect for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures.
- Support teammates and assigned site reliability, operations, and maintenance in nearby regional locations.
- Support the Regional Manager or designee in executing Power Generation Division processes.
- Perform reliability engineering and warranty management duties.
- Conduct operation and basic maintenance, including electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs.
- Steward safety and environmental programs.
- Supervise NextEra Energy employees and contractors as assigned.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Handle business duties and inventory management.
- Operate heavy equipment.
- Support regulatory compliance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
