About The Position

The PV Solar Technician supports the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy’s photovoltaic solar systems as part of the Renewable Operations & Integration team, helping ensure clean-energy systems perform reliably. The Site Technician supports the Regional Manager or designee in executing power generation processes. Site duties span safety, contractor management, operation and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment, site operations, asset management, regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Valid non-CDL driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school graduate.
• Licensed electrician.
• Licensed master electrician.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect PV solar systems routinely and identify maintenance or performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning panels, replacing faulty components, and testing systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures using technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
• Work with the operations team to implement and carry out maintenance plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with the construction team during installation and commissioning of new PV solar projects.
• Prepare reports and maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and equipment condition.
• Follow safety standards and company policies.
• Keep up to date with PV solar technology and maintenance practices.
• Perform reliability engineering and warranty management duties.
• Operate and provide basic maintenance for site equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, power electronics, and mechanical equipment.
• Steward safety and environmental programs.
• Supervise NextEra Energy employees and contractors.
• Perform business duties and manage inventory.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
