About The Position

The Purchasing Team Lead leads and manages the procurement team and oversees the procurement of fasteners and related components to meet customer demand and company objectives. The role coordinates with suppliers, optimizes inventory levels, and ensures procurement is timely and cost-effective. It also provides leadership, guidance, support, and training to purchasing professionals while advancing the effectiveness of the procurement function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in procurement or purchasing within the fastener distribution industry.
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost reductions.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with advanced procurement software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding communication, leadership, and team management abilities.
• Basic knowledge of fasteners, materials, industry standards, and market dynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage purchasing professionals, providing guidance, support, and training.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers, negotiate complex agreements, and resolve critical supply issues.
• Analyze inventory data, trends, and demand patterns to optimize stocking levels, reduce carrying costs, and minimize stockouts.
• Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of high-value supplier contracts and ensure compliance with their terms and conditions.
• Conduct price analysis, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership assessments to identify cost savings and supplier value-added services.
• Collaborate with quality teams to ensure products meet or exceed required quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and innovations in fasteners and related products to inform purchasing decisions.
• Generate reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings for management.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement.
• Lead and support cost-reduction initiatives by identifying savings, process improvements, and efficiencies.
