About The Position

The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time. You thrive on delivering the best service level every time. You are meticulously detailed, organized, and persistent with a sense of urgency to exceed service level expectations. You have a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management, you take a proactive approach in reviewing systems and processes to make recommendations for continuous improvement. While developing your team to maintain a best-in-class service level. This job posting is for an existing position.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field preferred
  • Working knowledge ERP and WMS Systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Works well under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities and various constraints related to Supply Chain.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-motivated person who demonstrates initiative and enjoys challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of previous purchasing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and/or Pipe Valves & Fittings product is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure optimum acquisition of materials, supplies and services at the best price and terms.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, to ensure a supply that matches demand.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems, spreadsheets, and other tools to manage inventory and create analytical reports for upper management and make sound purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and pricing to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers focusing on vendor performance.
  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of the purchasing team.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure contract compliance.
  • Identify and develop new sources of supply to meet changing business needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Carry a portfolio of vendors and execute PO creation and execution as part of day to day.
