You will play a crucial role in guiding the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The Purchasing Supervisor will contribute to the development of procurement strategies, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

5 – 6 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles, or equivalent military or practical experience.
Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
Strong knowledge of procurement software and systems.
Team management and leadership experience.
Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Ensure the team meets procurement goals and objectives.
Oversee end-to-end procurement processes, from requisition to delivery, ensuring efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.
Implement improvements to streamline procurement workflows and reduce lead times.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and evaluating vendor performance.
Lead vendor selection processes, ensuring alignment with quality and cost requirements.
Collaborate with finance teams to monitor and control procurement budgets.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to optimize purchasing expenditures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Analyze market trends, conduct supplier assessments, and recommend sourcing strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Provide procurement insights and support to other departments as needed.
