About The Position

The Purchasing/Storeroom Coordinator is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of Storeroom in VVF’s BARS & APDO operations. Welcome to VVF Illinois Services, LLC! Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Familiarity with computers and basic software
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must be able to operate a fork truck and pass the required fork truck-training program
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, drive shafts, sprockets, and roller chains, hydraulic systems and components, including cylinders, pumps, valves, etc
  • Establish and manage priorities for the Storeroom
  • Must able to work weekends, Plant shutdowns, Holidays, any shift, and overtime as required as designated by management
  • Previous experience in Shipping and Receiving
  • Demonstrate higher level understanding and proficiency in computer system such as SAP, Purchasing, PO Process, MS Office and Share Point.
  • Previous storeroom experience in all aspects of Storeroom Operations to include identify parts, setting min/max levels, setting up new suppliers, cross referencing and setting up locations; Storeroom Stocked M&R OEM PO's

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting plant for all production needs.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures required by VVF and applicable law (e.g. OSHA, etc.), personal protective equipment, and reporting procedures. Review all pertinent safety material before conducting new assignments.
  • Attend DDS Meeting
  • Maintains all Storeroom facilities in a clean, orderly, and operating condition. Follow general housekeeping procedures.
  • Establish and manage priorities for the Storeroom and manage the interface with the customer and vendors
  • SAP end user, resource and trainer.
  • Trains other employees as required for entering Storeroom, issuing parts, and all Storeroom operations.
  • Must maintain skills training as required by VVF, regulations and permits.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. No task or duty is exclusive to a classification or skillset. An employee working in this classification is expected to perform various duties and tasks that traditionally may not have been assigned under a narrower job classification.
  • Generate history status report on spare parts inventory, purchases, savings, cost.
  • Review all new inventory for stocking options and Updates pricing for PO discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and Place PO’s for the plant.
  • Manage the Blanket POs for the plant.
  • Place all PO’s to replenish stock, release POs to suppliers, track and follow up on deliveries.
  • Review spending reports for accuracy and pricing for on hand inventory.
  • Control new item inventory and stocking request.
  • Review all Inventory items and adjust Min/Max levels for savings for on hand inventory
  • Managed/Oversee Bin Fills consignment usage such as fasteners.
  • Review all Inventory items and adjust Min/Max levels for savings.
  • Works with the Plant Maintenance leaders to ensure MRO and stocking issues are resolved.
  • Perform budget analysis and project scope reports on MRO cost.
  • Ensure parts are ordered and received for Planned Maintenance Days.
  • Ensure critical parts are stocked.
  • Spot check local suppliers for cost savings were applicable to use our current suppliers for savings.
  • Seek out new vendors for cost savings.
  • Utilize knowledge and resources to find replacements for obsolete items.
