About The Position

Edmonson Electric, a premier residential electrical contractor in Florida, is looking for a Purchasing Specialist for our Land o lakes Branch. Edmonson Electric is an established Company that has been in business for over 45 years. We promote from within in our 8 branches: Tampa, Brandon, Ocala, Fort Myers, North Port, Orlando, Clermont and Jacksonville. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for supporting business operations by ordering products or materials based on current inventory needs and tracking shipments from manufacturing locations to company warehouses.

Requirements

Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships.
Direct experience with spreadsheet computer applications
Ability to use purchasing software.
Have good mathematical skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook required.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of purchasing experience preferred.
Previous experience in office preferred.

Responsibilities

Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records.
Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
Conduct price comparison to assure purchasing efficiency, quality, availability and other criteria.
Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
