  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of one-year health care experience in purchasing or accounting
  • Good computer knowledge and strong data input

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for researching requested products and/or services and obtaining the best price.
  • Work with prime vendors to ensure good pricing and product delivery.
  • Performs data entry of all assigned purchase orders.
  • Verifies the receipt of all goods and services.
  • Also responsible for mailroom duties.
  • Place all assigned order for stock, non-stock, office supplies, and routine service/repair
  • Obtain all necessary quotes on goods and/andor services requested
  • Work with prime vendors on all contract pricing and delivery requirements
  • Enter orders accurately and in a timely fashion into Platinum system
  • Receive stock, non-stock, and service/repair orders in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Maintain in an accurate fashion all documentation necessary to comply with optimum safety requirements
  • Assist in preparing stock items and preparing non-stock items for department delivery
  • Data entry of purchase orders and receiving
  • Prepare and/or pull reports as needed for obtaining best cost for goods and services
  • Help with special projects such as new facility opening or facility renovation
  • Help with reports and requirements pertaining to the Environment of Care
  • Keep department filing accurate and up-to-date
  • Perform and/or act as back-up for check deposits and accounts payable functions
  • Other tasks as may be deemed necessary by the management
  • Pick up mail from post office before work and drop off mail to post office after work
  • Open, date stamp, and distribute mail to appropriate person or department in a timely manner, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Make sure each piece of outgoing mail is stamped with the appropriate postage using the Connect 1000 mail machine
  • Drop off Fed Ex packages to nearest Fed Ex drop box as needed
  • Keep mailroom supplies fully stocked (ie: sealer, postage labels, ink, envelopes, Fed Ex and Post Office Boxes, etc.) and make sure postage machine does not run out of postage
  • Purchase stamps from Post Office as needed
  • Process interoffice mail
  • Have mailroom bags ready for maintenance guys the day before their mail run
