This role is responsible for leading purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, and order placement, with a focus on USMCA management. The position involves managing key duties in a plant such as EO/4M Changes Management, Parts Development, Suppliers’ Quality Issues, and New Project Development process management. Responsibilities extend from the development stage through mass production, including sourcing and procuring materials cost-effectively while considering price, schedule, delivery, supplier performance, and quality. The specialist will also analyze cost information for parts changes, evaluate countermeasures for supplier quality issues, establish KPIs, and manage the purchasing/procurement organization. A comprehensive understanding of USMCA and the overall tariff framework is required. The role involves negotiating terms and conditions, including material prices, with suppliers for new projects, managing bidding, supplier nomination, and signing purchasing contracts. Analysis of parts quality issues, productivity improvements, part supply, cost reduction, parts localization, and customer requests are also key functions. The specialist will analyze forecasts and identify potential risks of supplier part shortages in advance, and communicate with group leaders and team members regarding new projects. Additional duties may be assigned.
