About The Position

This role is responsible for leading purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, and order placement, with a focus on USMCA management. The position involves managing key duties in a plant such as EO/4M Changes Management, Parts Development, Suppliers’ Quality Issues, and New Project Development process management. Responsibilities extend from the development stage through mass production, including sourcing and procuring materials cost-effectively while considering price, schedule, delivery, supplier performance, and quality. The specialist will also analyze cost information for parts changes, evaluate countermeasures for supplier quality issues, establish KPIs, and manage the purchasing/procurement organization. A comprehensive understanding of USMCA and the overall tariff framework is required. The role involves negotiating terms and conditions, including material prices, with suppliers for new projects, managing bidding, supplier nomination, and signing purchasing contracts. Analysis of parts quality issues, productivity improvements, part supply, cost reduction, parts localization, and customer requests are also key functions. The specialist will analyze forecasts and identify potential risks of supplier part shortages in advance, and communicate with group leaders and team members regarding new projects. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in purchasing related experience (Automotive industry preferred)
  • Knowledge of Purchasing guidelines and programs
  • Knowledge of U.S. Custom regulations and recommendations
  • Experience with Purchasing systems
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little direction
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead Purchasing activities for sourcing, supplier selection and order placement.
  • Manage USMCA.
  • Perform key duties in a plant including EO/4M Changes Management, Parts Development, Suppliers’ Quality Issue, New Project Development process management and any other issues regarding Supply Chain Issues.
  • Manage all the above for Development through Mass Production Stage.
  • Source and procure materials that meet specifications and schedules in the most cost-effective manner, considering price, schedule and delivery as well as past supplier performance and quality.
  • Check Cost information for parts change (Investment Cost, Increase/Decrease of unit price, etc.) if necessary.
  • Collect and evaluate countermeasures regarding suppliers’ parts quality issue if necessary.
  • Establish KPI and manage Purchasing/Procurement organization.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions including material price with suppliers for New Projects.
  • Manage Bidding and supplier nomination, Signing of purchasing contract.
  • Analyze parts quality issue, productivity improvement, part supply issue, cost reduction, parts localization and customers’ request etc.

  • Communicate with all group leaders and team members concerning new projects.
