About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the cost, qualification, and delivery of components that meet project design book requirements. The Purchasing Project Engineer will manage the supplier selection process for new parts in New Product Development, utilizing competitive pricing analysis, and ensuring key project milestones are met according to the agreed project schedule. This includes coordinating part approvals by working with the design team and selected suppliers to obtain quality-related documents such as inspection and test reports that demonstrate compliance with Bosch procedures. The position involves purchasing project management for multiple simultaneously managed projects with diverse parts, and managing the purchasing portion of budgets and tooling expenses. The role also requires coordinating and leading technical supplier discussions with suppliers and the project team on various part types including plastic, machined, die cast, electrical & electronics, and powder metal parts. The Purchasing Project Engineer will interact effectively with the global purchasing team to drive projects using Bosch purchasing procedures and will own key departmental key-user functions in areas such as Advanced Negotiation, Supplier Contract Documentation, and utilizing the Bosch Purchasing platform for requesting supplier quotes, analysis, and awarding.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree required, Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering preferred.
5 - 7 years of working experience in Engineering and/or technical project management.
Working knowledge / on the job training related with Engineering, design, CAD, Quality
Excellent in MS office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent in presentations, verbal & written communication, interpersonal skills & being able to work in team environment
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence others
Working knowledge of Engineering drawings, specifications, 3D files, various manufacturing process like stamping, plastics, rubber, electrical / electronic assemblies, cords, cordless power tools

Nice To Haves

Additional education / working experience in the areas of Purchasing / costing / cost accounting / manufacturing / packaging / plastic parts manufacturing / Project management process is a plus
PMP Certifications / Negotiation experience is a plus
Experience in working with external business partners in Mexico and Asia is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ownership of key departmental key-user functions in one or more of the following areas: Advanced Negotiation specialist, Activities related with Supplier Contract Documentation, Specialist in areas of using Bosch Purchasing platform for requesting supplier quotes, analysis & awarding.
