About The Position
The Purchasing/Production Planner selects and negotiates with approved vendors to place purchase orders in response to product requirements. The Purchasing/Production Planner interfaces between the manufacturing/operations, purchasing planning and inventory control functions to determine the most efficient Production Plan to ensure inventory for finished goods is maintained at a level specified by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- 1+ years Purchasing/Planning/Scheduling experience
- Demonstrated MRP knowledge
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)

- Manufacturing or Quality background preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare the Production Plan based on forecast and promotional requirements, as well as company inventory guidelines
- Negotiate price, delivery terms and production time lines with current suppliers and vendors
- Identify cost savings
- Develop new suppliers as required
- Write Job Travelers and Purchase Orders
- Ensure all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) dates are maintained and updated
- Ensure desired MRP quantities are properly documented and orders for materials are placed in a timely manner
- Ensure components and services are available in a timely manner as required for production
- Ensure the required capacities are reserved to meet required production demand
- Coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel to solve problems related to the Production Schedule, such as material shortage status, rejection, scrap, re-work, etc.
- Prepare manufacturing plan to meet demand requirements
- Analyze material shortages, review order progress and adjust plans and schedules
- Maintain excellent team-oriented working relationships among all Hydraflow employees
- Recommend alternative materials management and planning strategies to management
- Maintain good manufacturing practice guidelines and behaviors
- Adhere to 5S Standards
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
- Other duties based on the needs of the Production Control Department
