About The Position

McKenna Labs is a full-service contract manufacturing company that specializes in hair, skin and body care products. We've been in the personal care development and manufacturing industry since 1998. We are looking for a self-starter to work as a Purchasing & Planning Coordinator. The Purchasing & Planning Coordinator provides administrative support for procurement and production planning, including issuing and managing supply requisitions, monitoring sales orders to ensure the delivery of materials are aligned with production schedules, and updating internal systems with pertinent purchasing/delivery/production milestone information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or higher preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to organize time and duties to complete in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of computer and business software applications, including MS Office.
  • Solid understanding of both written and spoken English.
  • Must be a team player and be able to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with others in an effective and professional manner.
  • Must have solid mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, dimensions, weights, convert English/Metric units, and apply concepts to practical situations
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in person onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out responsibilities in compliance with company policies, work procedures, and federal, state, and local laws. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Support Purchasing Department by issuing and managing all supply requisitions.
  • Consolidate raw and comp clear review process to a single person that communicates with necessary parties.
  • Run raw and comp clear information for all Reorders.
  • Run raw and comp clear information for all First Fills.
  • Update Sales Order (SO) fields with raw material and component estimated time of arrivals (ETAs).
  • Review receiving reports to confirm materials have delivered, per ETA.
  • Alert Scheduling team of delays or potential delays in receipt of raw materials and/or components.
  • Confirm quantities received are correct and account for proper scrap levels.
  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding any items that delivered short or missing.
  • Mark orders Raw and Comp clear, as required.
  • Review open SOs to identify raw ingredient and component ETAs to identify opportunities to improve more aligned ETAs.
  • Review open SOs to identify when a customer modifies, cancels, or provides new ETA for customer-supplied components and communicate the changes to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with set-up of customer-supplied PO templates for new, modified, or discontinued SKUs.
  • Assist with customer-supplied component purchase order (PO) process
  • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with co-workers and others with whom the position may have contact.
  • Perform tasks with safety in mind for self and others. Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Based on company needs, overtime is required.
