About The Position

Impact Workforce Solutions is seeking a Purchaser - Planner for a contract role in Canonsburg, PA, lasting approximately 3-4 months. This position is 100% on-site and operates on a 1st shift schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves facilitating sales orders from entry to post-shipment, working closely with Production, Purchasing, and Engineering to prioritize and execute production requirements. Key responsibilities include communicating order status, identifying and expediting order constraints using the ERP system, and conducting early analysis of orders for accuracy. The planner will also perform data mining and analysis to determine root causes of shipment delays and past due operations, understand the manufacturing process, and develop knowledge of the company's part numbering system. Additionally, the role requires reviewing outsourced processes, communicating delivery updates, assisting with inventory accuracy and part shortages, and completing miscellaneous tasks as needed. This includes updating BOMs and potentially assisting with job releases for cutting parts. The position requires proficiency in ERP software, internal data extraction systems, root cause analysis, strong interpersonal skills for cross-departmental communication, multitasking abilities, and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree or relevant work-related experience
3 years of planning/scheduling experience within an ERP system (SyteLine 8.0 preferred).
Ability to apply use of ERP software and an understanding of items, bills of material, routings, planning parameters, production orders, labor collection, inventory consumption and output
Ability to use internal systems for extracting data, reporting and troubleshooting
Basic ability to conduct root cause analysis and effectively report on results
Strong interpersonal skills will be required for cross-departmental communication, root cause activities and implementation of solutions
Ability to multi-task managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously
Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Project Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitate sales orders from order-entry through post shipment
Work with Production, Purchasing and Engineering to systematically prioritize and execute production requirements
Clearly communicate order status of orders to sales reps, managers and production personnel
Upon order-entry, utilize ERP system to identify order constraints. Expedite constraints where possible and communicate clearly with Sales
Conduct early analysis of orders verifying accuracy of production information and documents
Utilize ERP system for data mining and analysis determining root cause reasons late of customer order shipments and past due job operations
Understands the manufacturing process thoroughly, and has reasonable expectations as to what can be accomplished in a certain timeframe
Develop thorough knowledge of Starline part numbering methodology and nomenclature
Review items and materials that have processes outsourced and clearly communicate delivery updates and impacts to the production schedule.
Assist with problem solving of inventory accuracy, expedites, and part shortages
Support the planning team by completing miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed
Ability to work, on occasion, various schedule and shifts
Other duties as assigned by management
Alternate material updates on job BOMs
Updating BOMs to CTL parts on CO's that still have non-CTL F# BOMs (straights and maybe feeds if applicable)
Potentially also help get jobs released for the saw (in CBG and NW) to cut CTL parts down to the sizes we're currently the most in need of
Help with any other data related tasks
