About The Position

Central Transport is hiring a Purchasing Manager in Warren, Michigan. The role is responsible for purchasing equipment, materials, supplies, and IT products—including software and hardware—for multiple companies within the enterprise. The Purchasing Manager identifies and secures vendors, obtains quotes, makes financially conscientious purchasing decisions, communicates with department heads, management, and executive leadership, and creates and implements purchasing procedures. The position is fully on-site, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with compensation of $120,000–$140,000.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in purchasing or supply chain, or relatable experience.
5–10+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in an IT or transportation environment.
Proven research, problem-solving, and pricing negotiation experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work fully on-site from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

Identify and secure new vendors.
Obtain quotes for equipment orders across the enterprise.
Make financially conscientious purchasing decisions for IT products, including software and hardware.
Communicate with department heads, management, and executive leadership.
Handle project-by-project purchasing of equipment, materials, and supplies for multiple companies within the enterprise.
Create and implement purchasing procedures.
