About The Position

One of our clients, a rapidly growing manufacturing organization projected to double its market share over the next 3–5 years, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement function. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the strategic sourcing, acquisition, and management of materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing and operational needs. This role provides leadership to a team of Buyers, drives supplier performance, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and on-time delivery aligned with production schedules and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives, production demands, and growth plans
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Establish and manage long-term agreements (LTAs) and supplier contracts to ensure continuity of supply
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with underperforming suppliers
  • Manage supplier risk and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, and other applicable aerospace standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Buyers and Procurement Specialists
  • Set departmental goals, performance metrics, and KPIs aligned with company objectives
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the procurement team
  • Partner with Material Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely material availability
  • Optimize ERP/MRP purchasing parameters to balance inventory levels, lead times, and production requirements
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and supply chain efficiency improvements
  • Implement and continuously improve procurement processes, policies, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements, FAR/DFARS clauses, ITAR/EAR export regulations, and CPSR policies
  • Support internal and external audits related to procurement and supplier management
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, financial stability, and single-source dependencies
