About The Position

The Toledo Zoo is currently seeking a full-time Purchasing Manager. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, organized individual interested in working in a high volume and fast-paced environment while supporting our mission to: Enjoy. Inspire. Educate. Act! Under general supervision, the Purchasing Manager obtains competitive quotes, negotiates prices and terms, and makes vendor recommendations for supplies, equipment, and services. They are responsible for maintaining inventory control of stock items to meet the Zoo’s requisition needs in all departments. In addition, this position prepares and processes required reports and records.

Requirements

• 5 years of hands-on experience as a buyer, purchasing agent, or procurement specialist preferred.
• High school diploma
• Previous experience in warehousing, stocking, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and other related areas, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
• Required certification in Food Service sanitation.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Valid driver's license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
• At least 21+ years of age.
