About The Position

The Purchasing Intern supports the Kalmbach Feeds Purchasing team by improving and organizing supplier and ingredient documentation. The role requires someone perceptive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively with internal and external customers at all levels. The successful candidate should be considerate of customer needs, corporate goals, team relationships, and the company’s reputation.

Requirements

Be a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Be reliable, with a strong work ethic and positive disposition.
Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Have outstanding time-management skills.
Have exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
Thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Be proficient in Windows-based software programs.

Responsibilities

Streamline ingredient sheets and approved supplier forms, and audit SDS documents.
Systematically evaluate and catalogue suppliers to create an approved supplier library.
Evaluate and catalogue suppliers to develop a comprehensive map of approved U.S. suppliers.
Review and update specifications for all ingredients acquired or included in bid processes.
