About The Position

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for all duties related to purchase order entry and post-entry supply chain tracking for third party products orders. This role interacts with suppliers, both foreign and domestic, to maintain pricing, service standards and delivery scheduling. They will be interacting with internal personnel acting as a liaison between supply orders and demand orders. The Purchasing Coordinator will report to the Supervisor, Distributed Products Purchasing, and will be based on-site at our Medina, OH headquarters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in purchasing and procurement
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a purchasing or supply chain related role
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and approach tasks systematically

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate entry, proofing, maintenance and submission of purchase orders based on customer requirements
  • Create and verify purchase order information including proper product costing, shipping instructions, and additional details for submission to vendors
  • Coordinate and communicate order status information from suppliers
  • Perform routine purchase order review and follow-up
  • Escalation and expedition of orders based on specific need criteria
  • Track and resolve purchasing and inventory issues or discrepancies
  • Communicate directly with our suppliers, maintaining a good relationship
  • Monitor lead times and interfaces directly with vendors to ensure on-time or expedited delivery of purchased goods on behalf of customers
  • Provide internal customers with accurate and prompt updates of orders
  • Participate in quarterly calls with suppliers to discuss and implement best practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
