As a Purchasing Assistant II within East Central Public Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of job related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management or 1 year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent I (FET040) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, receives, stores, and issues property and supplies.
  • Coordinates property management and inventory control.
  • Checks purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Conducts physical inventories.
  • Coordinates the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies from established vendors.
  • Engages in receiving, storing, and shipping all types of materials and supplies.
  • Maintains inventory control and maintains inventory control records.
  • Processes field purchase orders.
  • Reviews and audits warehouse records and reports.
  • Reviews requisitions to verify if merchandise is contracted.
  • Screens, receives, stores, inventories and distributes surplus property.
