Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost, and type of material received, stocked, and issued, and prepares material requisitions by performing the following duties. This role works to meet the goals and objectives of Material Management consistent with the institutional vision, mission, goals, and objectives. It involves responding to contemporary Health Care and Material Management trends, assisting in departmental goals, and fostering continuous quality improvement. The position also involves recommending new programs as market changes drive material needs to enhance patient healthcare, communicating effectively with colleagues, peers, and superiors, and utilizing quality improvement decision-making skills. It requires establishing mutual trust and respect, moving cases and boxes, labeling medical and surgical supplies, maintaining accurate inventory control, filling requisitions, checking for outdated materials, stocking shelves, comparing invoice prices, assisting in annual physical inventory, keeping inventory of charge labels, comparing information on requisitions, invoices, and shipping notices, compiling and maintaining inventory records, preparing requests for procurement, and actively engaging in quality improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
