About The Position

A leading industrial services and metals recycling company is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced industrial environment while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing organization. Reporting to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, this role is responsible for executing end-to-end purchasing activities for goods and services required to support operations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure efficient procurement processes, cost effectiveness, and operational continuity.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Undergraduate Degree
5+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, or vendor management in a heavy industrial environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and make priority calls as necessary.
Comfortable working with all levels of the organization,
Structured approach to completing work.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day procurement for operations.
Work with the business to address any purchasing related issues.
Manage supplier relationships
Prepare and issue Capital Purchase Orders
Drive compliance to purchasing agreements.
Pursue continuous improvement opportunities with existing suppliers
Coordinate freight movement, customs documents and related logistics activities
Ensure company systems (Coupa & JDE) process and performance methods are being used effectively and in the most efficient manner possible
Assist with some Accounts Payable related issues
Identify savings and broader value opportunities within supplier relationships and monitor assessment activities as part of the sourcing lifecycle.
Assist manager with data collection when required
