About The Position

The Utah Department of Corrections is seeking an outgoing, independent thinker, with an eye for detail and a deep-rooted passion for purchasing to join our team as a Purchasing Agent I. The Purchasing Agent I is responsible for monitoring facility contracts, managing facility surplus, tracking fixed assets, assisting in completing inventory assignments as needed, processing purchase orders, coordinating food orders, and may help with warehouse ordering and inventory. This role works closely with the finance department and assists with retirement processes.

Requirements

  • Experience with Vantage.
  • Knowledge of State purchasing processes.
  • Is detail oriented.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Basic accounting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring facility contracts.
  • Managing facility surplus.
  • Tracking fixed assets.
