About The Position

Procure supplies, materials, equipment, and services required to support Center program operation in accordance with Center contract requirements, Corporate objectives and government policies. Make purchases in a reasonable time frame for efficient Center operation. Ensure that procurement is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, Department Of Labor Acquisition Standards, Office of Management and Budget Circulars, and Executive Orders. Maintain working library on rules and regulations for sub-contracting, property compliance, and equipment purchasing. Maintain professional memberships. Use the Small Business Administration as a prime source for locating new vendors. Ensure that Center goals for using small, woman owned, small disadvantage and hub zone businesses are met. Verify that new vendors are financially sound with an ability and good reputation for supplying materials and /or services. Create and maintain database of business supplies and vendors using on-line sources. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four years of purchasing experience preferable
  • Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or four years purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
