About The Position

The Purchaser is responsible for preparing purchase orders for all materials needed for clients and jobs, maintaining and monitoring inventory, and managing vendor relationships. This role also involves working closely with the yard crew and ensuring timely material delivery for jobs.

Requirements

  • Any combination of job-related experience and/or training which would produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Previous computer, typing, and data entry experience required.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work under time constraints.
  • Ability to interface with customers, sub-crews, and company personnel.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to safely perform major job responsibilities with reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
  • Lifting anything over 100lbs requires additional personnel and utilizing a dolly or forklift if possible.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inventory control, including damaged or incorrect shipments.
  • Process job orders by using Astro's inventory software to order and track materials for jobs.
  • Ensure timely arrival of materials prior to job delivery by following weekly production schedules.
  • Serve as the point of contact for crews needing materials to complete jobs and fill out appropriate forms for additional materials or crew orders.
  • Act as a purchasing agent by checking available suppliers for quality products at the best prices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the controller.
  • Comply with Astro policies and procedures.
