About The Position

The Purchaser maintains daily purchasing activities using forecasts and MRP and applies knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, and supply chain management. The role partners with suppliers and internal departments to source goods, coordinate delivery timing and quantities, maintain purchase orders and records, and ensure procured items meet quality requirements. It also analyzes costs, pricing, market trends, and potential risks, negotiates favorable terms, and provides management reports. The position works first shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates accepting an employment offer must pass a background check and drug screen and meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Purchaser or Buyer.
• At least 1 year of experience in inventory and supply chain management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and negotiation skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP software.
• QuickBooks experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily purchasing activities using forecasts and MRP.
• Seek, source, and build relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Determine delivery quantities and timing; monitor and forecast demand.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, and other terms.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and inventory control.
• Stay current on ongoing and upcoming projects, including attending weekly project meetings.
• Maintain open purchase orders and backorders and ensure their accuracy.
• Maintain supplier databases, purchase records, and related documentation.
• Create new items in QuickBooks.
• Ensure procured items meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Improve purchasing systems and processes.
• Provide reports for management.
• Develop negotiation strategies and close deals on favorable terms.
• Forecast price and market trends and conduct cost, scenario, and benchmarking analyses.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks from market and economic trends that may affect demand.
