About The Position

The Purchasing Agent is directly responsible to the Powerplant Purchasing Supervisor. This role ensures that procurement of materials and services is cost-effective and in accordance with company/customer policies and procedures. The Purchaser will procure and expedite material to support engine maintenance requirements and for routine stock replenishment. A key responsibility is ensuring that parts providers are on the Approved Maintenance Provider List or have been approved for one-time use by the Kalitta Air Quality Assurance Department. The role also involves obtaining multiple price quotes and ensuring materials meet minimum certification requirements prior to purchasing, which is done through a Quality Department review. The Purchaser will perform any other duties as assigned by the Powerplant Division Materials Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Must know how to operate a standard computer as well as Microsoft office, Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, accurately, and clearly.
  • Good attendance is a must.
  • Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to convert between different units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that procurement of materials and services is cost effective and in accordance with company / customer policies and procedures.
  • Procuring and expediting material to support engine maintenance requirements.
  • Procuring and expediting material on a routine basis for stock replenishment.
  • Ensuring that parts providers used by the company are on the Approved Maintenance Provider List, or have been approved for one-time use by the Kalitta Air Quality Assurance Department.
  • Obtaining multiple price quotes for materials and services when possible.
  • Ensuring that materials meet the minimum certification requirements prior to purchasing.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Powerplant Division Materials Manager.
