Pupil Attendance Support Worker

Lancashire County Council
$36,363 - $40,777Hybrid

About The Position

Attendance is at the forefront of everyone's agenda in education and we have an exciting opportunity to join the School Attendance Support Team at Lancashire County Council. We are seeking to appoint a part time School Attendance Support Worker (18.5 hours per week, term time only pro-rata) who will provide vital advice and guidance for schools and families around attendance. This will be focused largely in the Chorley area as a job share with another experienced colleague on the team. In Lancashire, our school attendance is largely in line with national average data, but our aim is to exceed that. We want to ensure that our schools have the right advice and guidance to ensure their pupils attend regularly and that they have the strategies in place to support children and families who face barriers to attendance. Our committed team work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to ensure that the Local Authority meet their responsibilities in line with 'Working Together to Improve School Attendance'. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated team member to join our knowledgeable and passionate team. You will relish the opportunity to meet with senior leaders in school to discuss attendance matters, alongside supporting pupils and their families who face barriers to attendance. The role is an opportunity to make a real difference in this vital aspect of education. The School Attendance Support Worker roles within our team offer real variety and provide the opportunity to be innovative, influential and make a positive difference to the attendance of children in our schools.
