About The Position

Cadrex is seeking a Punch Press Set-Up I to assist with setup and basic operation of punch press machines used in metal fabrication. The role supports production by ensuring machines are loaded with appropriate materials and configured to meet job specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to producing quality components safely and efficiently.

This position works onsite on a Friday-through-Sunday schedule, from 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and basic technical drawings.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in manufacturing or machine operations.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine issues.
• Familiarity with hand tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up punch press machines for daily production runs, including loading raw materials and selecting the correct tooling.
• Help install dies and punches under the guidance of senior technicians, ensuring correct alignment and secure fastening.
• Operate punch press machinery under supervision to produce metal parts according to specifications.
• Perform basic inspections of finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Follow safety guidelines, wear proper PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow setup sheets and work orders, and assist with logging production data and machine settings.
• Support routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff to support smooth production flow.
