About The Position

The Punch Press Operator is responsible for applying metal to customer orders and accurately processing material according to work order specifications. This role involves ensuring processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition, and keeping the processing area clean, safe, and orderly. Key accountabilities include operating various forklifts (counterbalance and 4-directional like Raymond reach, combi-lift) to handle skids and raw material bundles up to 2000 lbs. The operator will also be responsible for documentation of raw material movements and transfers, data entry into the ERP system, preparing skids for shipment, and performing visual inspections of raw materials and packaging. Additionally, the role includes moving material from racking to production cells, loading and unloading trucks, and conducting routine basic maintenance checks on forklifts, reporting any issues to the supervisor. This position is identified as “safety sensitive” and requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.

Requirements

  • An individual must possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Perform basic math skills.
  • Safety Mindset.
  • 3rd party forklift certification for counterbalance and 4-directional reach truck.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Use of hand held measuring tools.
  • Computer literate.

Responsibilities

  • Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications.
  • Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
  • Complete all required information entry accurately.
  • Operate forklifts including counterbalance and 4-directional (e.g., Raymond reach, combi-lift, etc.).
  • Fill out documentation on raw material movements and transfers.
  • Enter data into the ERP system.
  • Prepare skids for shipment.
  • Perform visual inspection of raw material for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform visual inspection of packaging materials.
  • Move material from racking to production cell.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Perform routine basic maintenance check on the forklift to keep it in good working order, reporting issues immediately to the supervisor.
