About The Position

The Punch Press Operator operates CNC machines to fabricate parts and performs typical machine shop and fabrication operations. The role includes loading and unloading materials, monitoring machine operation for malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools, inspecting machined products, and handling production paperwork. The operator works with co-workers regarding production runs and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area while following safety and environmental guidelines. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform CNC-related duties, including lockout/tagout, operating machines, handling materials, and calling up and entering CNC programs.
• Ability to inspect machined products and complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to fabricate parts, including powering machines up and down, calling up and entering CNC programs, and operating the machines.
• Load and unload materials onto machines and handle materials during production.
• Detect machine malfunctions, including worn or damaged cutting tools, and report defective materials or questionable conditions to a manager or supervisor.
• Load cut parts onto racks, skids, or shelves.
• Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs.
• Perform typical machine shop and fabrication operations.
• Perform inspections of machined products and complete and maintain parts paperwork.
• Perform operator maintenance functions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow safety and environmental guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
