About The Position

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is currently seeking a Part-Time Punch Press Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Part-Time Punch Press Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on punch presses and related production equipment. This position supports manufacturing operations by minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safe, efficient machine performance. Duties include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical maintenance. About Us: Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing has specialized in medium- to high-volume contract metal stamping, progressive die stamping, and CNC machining since 1970. Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing specializes in both deep-draw and progressive die stamping. We are equipped with man servo, high-speed, mechanical, and hydraulic stamping presses ranging from 30 to 400 tons. Our machines are optimized for automation with in-die contact and non-contact sensors. We are also experts in secondary put-and-take operations for parts that cannot be completed in a progressive die. Additionally, we have multiple 5-axis Emmegi XT extrusion milling centers with a bed capacity of 30 feet, plus turrets, lasers, and more. Requirements

  • Knowledge of punch presses, stamping equipment, and related machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on punch presses, feeders, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
  • Repair and replace worn or damaged machine components.
  • Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
  • Maintain lubrication systems and ensure proper machine adjustments.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
  • Assist with punch press setup verification and tooling-related maintenance.
  • Maintain maintenance records and document completed repairs.
  • Coordinate with production personnel to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
  • Assist with facility and general maintenance projects as assigned.

Benefits

  • Wage $22.00-$26.00/hour
  • Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
