About The Position

The Pumping Unit Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing pumping units and their associated engines across Dugan Production Corp.’s field operations. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations. Working independently in the field, the technician supports uptime and equipment reliability by identifying mechanical issues, performing repairs, and responding to service requests. This position plays a key role in maximizing the performance and lifespan of pumping equipment critical to production success.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the function, components, and operation of pumping units and pumping unit engines.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot field mechanical systems independently.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
  • Understanding of oilfield production equipment and how fluids and gases flow through pipeline systems.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and inspection procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with pumping unit maintenance or oilfield production operations preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on field experience are strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues with various types of pumping units and engines.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil changes, greasing, part replacements, and adjustments.
  • Complete thorough inspections using approved pumping unit inspection forms.
  • Ensure all units meet cleanliness, functionality, and compliance standards.
  • Respond to service requests from field personnel regarding pumping unit repairs or performance issues.
  • Identify problems requiring repair or replacement and report findings to supervisors.
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory of all pumping units and associated engines in the field.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs performed.
