About The Position
Pump Technician – Water/Wastewater Utilities Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment and making a real impact in your community? What You'll Do As a Pump Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the pumps and equipment that keep our water and wastewater systems operating safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining pumps, motors, or industrial mechanical equipment
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work outdoors and in various environmental conditions
Nice To Haves
- Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, or municipal environments
- Knowledge of lift stations, booster stations, and treatment plant equipment
- Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting
- Technical school training or mechanical maintenance certification
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on water booster stations, wastewater lift stations, and treatment facility equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized testing and diagnostic tools
- Disassemble, rebuild, install, and align pumps and rotating equipment
- Replace bearings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components
- Support the installation and startup of new pumps, motors, controls, and system upgrades
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately
- Respond to emergency repairs and equipment breakdowns as needed
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE requirements
