This role is responsible for performing all aspects of process engineering designs under general supervision. Key responsibilities include promoting a safety-first culture in design, establishing design criteria, incorporating client requirements, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and codes. The engineer will also be responsible for understanding project scope, advising on design changes, delegating work to junior engineers and designers, and collaborating with other disciplines. The position involves producing preliminary designs, material take-offs, conceptual layouts, and cost studies to determine optimal engineering solutions. Detail design calculations and drawings will be produced, emphasizing ease of construction, operability, and maintenance, while meeting client specifications. The role also includes checking the work of other engineers, producing equipment and construction specifications, reviewing vendor information, and performing fieldwork for information gathering and construction support. Additionally, the engineer will develop bid packages, participate in professional society meetings, and engage in sales activities such as client presentations and proposal development. Travel may be required for client presentations, project tasks, and training. A significant aspect of the role involves actively mentoring less experienced process engineers and developing work-sharing packages for interoffice execution support.
