About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Account Manager to join our Pulp and Paper team. In this role, you will take ownership of a dynamic territory spanning Western Canada and the Northwestern United States, with a strong focus on building long-term client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and driving new business opportunities. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will play a key role in growing our presence in the pulp and paper industry, particularly within chemical applications. This is a high-impact, customer-facing position that combines strategic account management with active business development, including approximately 50% travel to engage directly with clients and strengthen partnerships on-site. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring a combination of industry expertise, technical understanding, and strong commercial acumen. If you are passionate about developing strong business relationships, uncovering new market opportunities, and working closely with industrial clients in a technical sales environment, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a key North American territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Science, or Chemical Engineering is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development and prospecting within the Pulp and Paper sector.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in the pulp and paper industry, with working knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of pulp and paper manufacturing processes, equipment, industry trends, challenges, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated strength in negotiation, delivering compelling presentations, and effectively communicating both technical and value-based propositions.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy; adaptable to new technologies and evolving market conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to accurately identify and address customer needs.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) to manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across Canada and the United States, including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by promoting Quadra’s high-quality product portfolio to both new and existing customers through customer visits, calls, and industry networking events.
  • Proactively identify and develop customer accounts through effective prospecting, research, and analysis of market opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships aligned with Quadra’s values and strategic objectives.
  • Enhance customer experience by identifying key stakeholders and delivering tailored solutions that address specific operational and technical needs, particularly within major accounts.
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales and margin targets while contributing to sales forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Secure new business opportunities, maintain existing sales volumes, and manage the negotiation of new contracts and renewals.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to support data-driven sales strategies and customer engagement efforts.
  • Ensure all sales documentation and reporting are completed accurately and submitted on time to the appropriate departments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, marketing teams, and other internal stakeholders to support customer calls and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Represent Quadra at key industry conferences and events to strengthen relationships and promote our capabilities within the sector.
