About The Position
Covenant Medical Center, D/B/A MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is seeking a Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine Physician. This full-time position involves treating patients with critical care issues, specializing in lung and respiratory tract conditions. The role includes providing inpatient and outpatient pulmonary consults, managing pulmonary clinics, interpreting pulmonary tests, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures. Additionally, the physician will perform Intensive Care Unit (ICU) attending duties, including medical care for ICU patients, rounding with house staff, being on call, and assisting in ICU emergencies.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Medicine, Osteopathy, or foreign equivalent
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Iowa.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Treats patients with critical care issues, specializing in the treatment of issues related to the lungs and respiratory tract.
- Provides inpatient and outpatient pulmonary consults, pulmonary clinics, interpretation of a broad range of pulmonary tests, and the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary practices.
- Performs pulmonary attending duties including rounding on inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, bronchoscopy and other pulmonary procedures.
- Performs Intensive Care Unit (“ICU”) attending duties including providing medical care for ICU patients, rounding with the ICU house staff, being on call to cover both ICU and resident phone calls and assisting in a variety of ICU emergencies.
