About The Position

The Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks 2 board certified / board eligible faculty physicians (open rank) for our expanding Lung Transplant Program. These positions are located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital. The positions offer a balanced mix of clinical care, teaching, academic development, and research within a supportive environment committed to expanding and strengthening lung transplant services. The role involves active involvement in the evaluation of patients considered for lung transplantation, as well as ongoing care of patients who have undergone transplant. This includes both inpatient and outpatient care. Inpatient care focuses on managing transplant candidates and post-transplant patients during hospitalization, working closely with surgery, critical care, infectious disease, and other specialty teams. Outpatient care includes pre-transplant assessments, longitudinal post-transplant follow-up, and participation in multidisciplinary transplant clinics.

Requirements

  • ABIM Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Pulmonary & Critical Care
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Wisconsin

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong academic career within a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team.
  • Active involvement in evaluation of patients being considered for lung transplantation, as well as ongoing care of patients who have undergone transplant.
  • Provide both inpatient & outpatient care.
  • Inpatient care will focus on managing transplant candidates & post-transplant patients during hospitalization, working closely with surgery, critical care, infectious disease, & other specialty teams.
  • Outpatient care will include pre-transplant assessments, longitudinal post-transplant follow-up, & participation in multidisciplinary transplant clinics.
  • Contribute to research focused on solid organ transplant, including innovative studies with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Participate in the education of fellows and other trainees.
