The Pulmonary Function Technologist is a health care professional who is a graduate of a Program in Respiratory Care approved by the committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and is licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. The PFT I performs a variety of diagnostic tests and clinical activities in the assessment, treatment and education of the patient with respiratory problems. The PFT I actively supports and serves as a resource to other members of the patient care team. The PFT I supports departmental and interdepartmental quality efforts. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran. The Pulmonary Function Technologist performs pulmonary function testing, billing, calibrations, and maintenance of equipment. Patient and family centered care (PFCC) at YNHH is demonstrated by working with patients and their families based on the 4 principles of PFCC: participation, dignity and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, physicians, staff and support department personnel.
