About The Position

As a Pulmonary Function Technician at MercyOne, you will perform pulmonary-function, lung-capacity, and blood-and-oxygen tests to gather data for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disorders. You will confer with patients to explain test procedures, explain specified methods of breathing, and conduct pulmonary-function tests. You will observe and record readings on metering devices of analysis equipment, and convey findings of tests and analyses to physicians for interpretation. May also perform blood analysis tests to measure factors such as oxygen and carbon dioxide tensions, hemoglobin saturation and levels, and pH of blood, using a blood gas analyzer.

Requirements

Respiratory Care, 2-year college program or equivalent experience
Certified pulmonary function testing
ACLS within 6 months of hire
Successful Completion of basic EKG Interpretation course
Basic Life Support
CRT or RRT
State of Iowa Licensure/Registration
Less than 1 year experience required
