As Pulmonary Function Technician, you will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
  • Current Licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • C/RPFT credentialing through the NBRC

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols.
  • Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs.
  • Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable).
  • Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable).
  • If designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations
