About The Position

The Pulmonary Function Tech will assist with the overall functioning of the pulmonary department. They will perform routine function tests according to protocols established by the ATS including PFTs, DLCO, FRC, (with and without bronchodilators) Methacholine Challenge tests, and oximetry both at rest and with exercise. The role involves explaining and demonstrating testing and instructing patients in testing procedures to ensure patient’s best effort. Additionally, the Pulmonary Function Tech will provide first-level troubleshooting for pulmonary function equipment and perform quality control procedures on pulmonary testing equipment to ensure proper operation and integrity of test results.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy and/or certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist
• 1 to 2 years respiratory therapy experience as an RRT in hospital or physician office, and/or a minimum of 6 months to 2 years of experience as a pulmonary function technologist
• Proficiency with pulmonary function testing and equipment
