About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Pulmonary Disease & Critical Care Medicine physician at an inpatient facility in Gadsden, AL. The coverage is supplemental and for a call-only schedule from September 17-21. The physician will provide 24-hour beeper call with a 30-minute response time, handling 6-10 phone consults and seeing 25-30 patients. Rounding is included. The department has 32 beds and the facility is a Level III Trauma and Level III PEDS facility. Cerner EMR is used, and temporary privileges are available.
Requirements
- Active AL License or IMLC
- BC/BE
- BLS
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour beeper call with a 30-minute response time.
- Handle 6-10 phone consults.
- See 25-30 patients.
- Perform rounding.
- Manage critical care cases including cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, OD/Poisoning, drowning, and pre & post-operative care for general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardio/thoracic surgeries.
- Manage pulmonary cases including ventilation management (invasive and non-invasive) and chest tube insertion.
