About The Position

Join an established team as a Pulmonary Critical Care physician in Manhattan, Kansas. This full-time employed position within a nonprofit health system offers a practice setting in an inpatient environment with access to support staff. The role involves providing pulmonary and critical care consultation services, managing critically ill patients in the ICU (including ventilator management and care coordination), performing pulmonary procedures like bronchoscopy, developing an outpatient pulmonary clinic, and evaluating/managing a wide range of pulmonary conditions. Accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record is essential.

Requirements

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pulmonary & Critical care consultation services in the inpatient setting
  • Manage critically ill patients in the ICU, including ventilator management and multidisciplinary care coordination
  • Perform pulmonary procedures as clinically indicated, including bronchoscopy and related diagnostic/therapeutic procedures
  • Develop and build an outpatient pulmonary clinic practice from the ground up
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, sleep-related breathing disorders, and pulmonary infections
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within electronic medical record
