About The Position

This position will support District One by creating and editing digital and print media; operating and managing copy center equipment, supplies, orders, and logs; assisting with electronic imaging; providing receptionist and customer‑service support; coordinating building maintenance work orders; operating bindery equipment; performing related housekeeping and material‑handling tasks.   • Knowledge of personal computers.
  • Knowledge of computers and complex large‑format copy equipment and software.
  • Skill in use of plastic binding equipment.
  • Skill in organizing and maintaining a filing system.

  • Employee will be required to be responsible to emergency situations within a very short time frame and serve on the Transportation Emergency Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes consistency of web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity.
  • Converts written, graphic, audio and video components to compatible web formats.
  • Identifies and corrects problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback.
  • Designs, creates and disseminates a variety of electronic and printed media to communicate and promote the District including artwork and graphics for publications, posters and other public information displays using printing/duplicating equipment as necessary.
  • Maintains responsibility for taking photographs and video taping assorted projects, presentations, events, and sites as needed.
  • Responsible for editing photos and editing/scripting/creating and duplicating videos
  • Provides customer service and operates all the copy and printing equipment in the walk-up copy center in the office complex.
  • The technician must be able to operate multiple size and/or formats and types of printing and copying equipment.
  • Process orders for all internal and field office customers.
  • Process maps, prints and large format copies for all customers.
  • Arrange for in-house shipping to complete copying tasks for field customers.
  • The technician maintains monthly logs of copier use.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supplies for copier room.
  • Maintains accurate log of requests for copies by all customers.
  • Assist the manager in the electronic imaging area with data processing workflow, maintaining run documentation and operational records.
  • Assist in the day-to-day system monitoring activities such as software and hardware components of the Document Control Imaging Storage System.
  • Ensuring that down time is kept at a minimum and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in the transfer of cartons to the State Records Center and/or the State Archives and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinate the disposal of records held by Records Storage that have been approved for destruction and complete the necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure that destruction is in compliance with applicable records retention schedules.
  • Acts as receptionist, answers the telephone, directs incoming calls, and relays messages.
  • This includes backup receptionist for the Support Services Office.
  • This includes telephone inquiries for the public, receiving requests for maintenance and custodial services for the District Office Complex occupants and forwarding these calls to the appropriate section.
  • Answers Public Information Telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintains responsibility for developing, updating, and maintaining the SharePoint Site.
  • Also responsible for coordinating with the Office of Information Services to create various links to assist the customers of District One.
  • Receives and assigns general building maintenance work order requests.
  • Maintains records, logs, correspondence and other documents related to submitted work orders.
  • Runs reports through the work order system.
  • Assist the manager in the electronic imaging area with data processing workflow, maintaining run documentation and operational records.
  • Assist in the day-to-day system monitoring activities such as software, hardware components of the Document Control Imaging Storage System.
  • Ensuring that down time is kept at a minimum and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary.
  • Operates a variety of technical bindery equipment, such as a perfect binder; operates a collator, various laminators, digital paper cutters, power stitchers, plastic binding equipment, and padding frames.
  • Performs environmental housekeeping regarding waste materials, handles supplies including cartons and rolls of paper with an approximate weight of up to 50 pounds.
