About The Position

The City of Bristol, Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Public Works Motor Equipment Operator I. The position works under the direct supervision of the applicable supervisor or job foreman and operates a variety of construction and operational equipment and vehicles in support of City street maintenance and construction projects at operational sites throughout the City. The position is open until filled and is subject to a background check.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience operating vehicles and light construction equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Class B commercial driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
• Subject to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of construction and operational equipment and vehicles.
• Support City street maintenance and construction projects at operational sites throughout the City.
