The Public Works Internship provides an opportunity for college students pursuing a career in civil engineering and municipal public works to learn directly from professionals in these fields. The Public Works Intern will work under the direction of a professional engineer to perform various tasks which may include: Assisting staff with construction administration tasks Collecting and verifying GIS data Assisting staff with erosion control inspections Inspect and rate the condition of existing infrastructure Develop and draft exhibits for presentations The pay range for this position is $20.00-21.50 per hour depending on year standing in college and previous experience. Hours of work are Monday-Friday from 8-4:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break. Education and Experience College student majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to read and interpret construction plans Understanding of basic design, construction, and surveying principle
