Make a difference as a Public Works Inspector As a full-time Public Works Inspector at American Fork City, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of public works projects. You will conduct routine to complex inspections related to general improvements in public rights-of-way, including earthwork, surfacing, water and sewer lines, and storm drainage systems. Your expertise will be vital in understanding material tests for compliance and following uniform procedures for assessing earthwork, aggregate production, asphalt, and concrete. You will monitor testing equipment for proper functionality, read and interpret plans, and compile essential statistical information. Additionally, you will engage with contractors to address construction challenges, utilizing your professional judgment to evaluate problems and propose viable solutions. Your contributions will significantly impact the infrastructure of American Fork, ensuring the longevity and integrity of essential public services.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computer skills: Microsoft Office suite
  • Skill in maintaining cooperative working relationships with engineers, architects, contractors and the general public

  • Interpret standard specifications accurately and effectively.
