Public Works Inspector II
About The Position
The City of Newport Beach seeks a motivated individual to join the Public Works Department as a Public Works Inspector II. This position will inspect workmanship and materials used in a variety of Capital Improvement Projects, ensure conformance with plans, specifications and department regulations; coordinate with contractors, other City Departments, and local agencies; work with engineers and contractors to solve problems, inspect traffic control according to the WATCH manual and approved traffic control plans, maintain records and prepare reports pertaining to projects.
Requirements
- Two years of increasingly responsible experience performing a variety of construction inspection work.
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in mathematics, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully complete a thorough background review, including being fingerprinted.
